Studio 1Thousand brings life to spaces through artistic and innovative LED lighting design. Established in 2011, the award-winning firm is known for its aesthetic sensibility, technical expertise, and client collaboration.  From inception to installation, we ensure the successful expression of each client’s goals. The firm is recognized for its excellence in creating highly-customized, large-scale LED installations in complex, dynamic public spaces that are elegant, impactful, and memorable, bringing wonder and delight to the visitor experience.

Based in New York and Seattle, the firm has produced site-specific LED artworks for non-profit, cultural, and corporate clients across the country, including the Seattle Asian Art Museum, Chase Center in San Francisco, Museum of the City of New York, University of Chicago, Perot Family Headquarters, and the L&C Tower in Nashville, as well as smaller works for private residences. Studio 1Thousand is proud to have worked closely with a number of renowned architectural firms on these installations including Tod Williams Billie Tsien Architects, Mithun, Gensler, and Studio Joseph, among others.

Studio 1Thousand has been honored for design excellence through awards, publications, and exhibitions. The firm’s work has been published in Architectural Lighting, CODA, Architect, and Interior Design magazines, and recognized for design excellence by the International Association of Lighting Designers, Architizer A+ Awards, and CODA Awards. Recent exhibitions include Owen James Gallery in NYC, the Portland Winter Light Festival, and the Countdown Clock public art commission for artist Matthew Barney. Studio 1Thousand is registered as a Certified Minority-owned Business Enterprise in New York State, New York City, and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.
